The calathea rufibarba is known for its unique fuzzy leaves & stems, also their movements & are often referred to as 'prayer plants'.
They like to raise their foliage at night time in 'prayer', and lower them again during the daytime.
The calathea rufibarba is known as one of the more hardy calathea, tolerating a wide range of different care conditions.
Calathea thrive in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light.
Water every weeks, making sure to keep the soil slightly moist, but not too wet as to cause root rot. We recommend watering with filtered water, rain water or allow tap water to sit for 24hrs before watering.
They also love higher humidity environments, so a misting every now and then can be beneficial.
The calathea is also non-toxic which makes it a great pet friendly plant!
